Falls Church City Republican Committee Jonathan Krive, Chairman

UPDATE: On Feb. 9, Falls Church Republicans elected Jonathan Krive as the new Chairman of the City Republican Committee.

In February 2008, Falls Church Republicans selected new party officers for the next two years, and signed up to participate in the 8th District GOP convention and Republican State Convention. In May, those conventions will select district party officers, state party officers, delegates to the national convention, and our nominee for U.S. Senate.

While the filing deadline has closed, there are still many opportunities to get involved in building a stronger GOP in the City. FCCRC encourages all interested party members to participate. Please contact us!

Any registered voter in the City of Falls Church, who is in accord with the principles of the Republican Party, was eligible to file for these positions:

City level: Falls Church Republicanis held a mass meeting on Sat., Feb. 9, and elected a City GOP Chairman, members of the City Republican Committee, and delegates to the 8th District and State Republican Conventions. The filing deadline was Feb. 9 -- but there are still some positions available on the City Committee, and interested voters are welcome to apply. Please contact us for details.


District level: The filing deadline for positions to be elected at the 8th District Republican Convention (District chairman, State Central member, delegate/alternate to National Convention) was Mon., Feb. 4. More than 30 people filed for the 11 available positions (see list of candidates).

The District Convention will be held Sat., May 17, at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Arlington. Falls Church will have 6 votes and is authorized to send up to 30 delegates. Alexandria, Arlington and Fairfax County will also be represented. (See more information on the District Convention.)

NOTE: Only those who sign up with FCCRC for the 8th District Convention by the Falls Church filing deadline (Feb. 9) are eligible to be voting delegates at the District Convention on May 17.

State Convention: The Virginia Republican State Convention will be held on Fri.-Sat., May 30-31, at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. That convention will elect state party officers and nominate a candidate for U.S. Senate. All cities and counties across Virginia will be represented; Falls Church will have 13 votes and is authorized to send up to 65 delegates.

NOTE: Only those who sign up with FCCRC for the State Convention by the Falls Church filing deadline (Feb. 9) are eligible to be voting delegates at the State Convention on May 31.
